The Beginning of a Baby Girl Nursery

Happy New Year Ya'll!

I have been away from the blog for the last week partially due to the holidays and partially because I went to my niece's house to get the baby's room ready. If things go as planned she will be here in about 6 weeks! Sooo excited, another baby girl to love on (and yes I would feel the same way if it was a boy)!!!! I have shown you the work we have done on my niece's new house a few times in the last year. You can find her kitchen, entry, den, bedroom, bathroom, Macy's bedroom by clicking on any of these links. The last room in the house to need work is Hadley's room. Here's a sneak peak of a few of the things we worked on this week.
Meet Peaches! Hadley's big sister, Macy, named her. She is made of fabric that is starched onto the wall. Such an easy inexpensive project. When she doesn't want her on the wall any longer she can just peel her off. Doesn't damage the wall and once you wash the fabric you can reuse it for something else.
She is blowing heart bubbles over the baby's bed.
I just love this little elephant!
It also covers a light socket that will come in handy years from now when she will have a tv hanging on the wall.
Sweet little flowers for her hair, a must have for every girl, even girl elephants!

My sister and I did all of the sewing. This was Macy's bumper pad that we recovered.
And we made this rag quilt. It's the first time for all of us, fun easy project. I think I need one now!
I'm loving this color pallet, pinks and aqua. It's such a calm room.
This dresser turned out so amazing! It was a piece she already had, nothing special, just one of those pieces made out of pressed wood, primed, painted and sanded.
And this little birdie pick came from Pier One, it was the beginning inspiration for the room.
Let's just hope the docs are right and we are really getting a Hadley or we have some more work to do! I'll show you some more of the room soon, we still have a little more to do on it. It's fun to get away and decorate for my niece and her new baby girl. My sister, niece and I have a blast, we laugh and laugh and stay up all night. Every room is truly a collaboration of all our talents. We work really well together and end up with some pretty wonderful rooms but I think the memories we make along the way is the best part!

Sarah over at Thrifty Decor Chick is having a Before and  After party so I wanted to show you what we started with, basically a spare room to house all the extra's you aren't sure what to do with.
I can't wait to show what it looks like when it's all done!

Just found your wonderful blog and became a follower. Love this nursery! I will become a grandmother in May. We are doing green and yellow in an owl theme. I also will be making a rag quilt for the first time.
