More Nappa Style Inspiration

Last year I found this great catalog called Napastyle. It is full of some amazing items, but honestly most of them are out of my price range. They have some great sales but some of them would be easy to put together yourself.
Does your Goodwill have a ton of cutting boards, they could make a great side table.
And this light, I picked up a basket at my Goodwill to make into a light fixture in my laundry room.
Imagine cutting a bunch of old books up and gluing them to a box, I love that idea!
I have to find a pile of these somewhere, they have the best things made with them. I love the way they mix the old with the new in this catalog.
I love these, I wish I had room in my kitchen, wouldn't these be so easy to put together. All you need is a little bit of pallet wood!
IN JANUARY OF 2012 I SAW THIS ARTWORK AT HOBBY LOBBY. I DID NOT MAKE THIS MAP, THIS IS A POST ABOUT INSPIRATION FROM A CATALOG. I DID HOWEVER TELL YOU HOW I THINK IT'S MADE. YOU CAN CHECK OUT THAT POST .HERE
Ok, are you dying yet? These are gorgeous! I wish I had somewhere to put these, they are screaming at me, take me home!
Again, this is another item I just picked up from Goodwill!
I want this table!!! I love everything about it, it is just perfect!
What a great way to display or store your wine!
This is my very favorite piece. I think you could make it but I totally adore it! So did you see anything you love? Are you gonna buy it or do you think you can make it?

Loads of Style - Laundry room ispiration!

Do you ever happen upon something and think, am I the only person who doesn't know about this? Last night I was at my local Lowe's waiting as the nice man who was getting my order together for my new stove and microwave, (you can't see me but I'm smiling big!) and there was this magazine laying on the counter. I picked it up and starting browsing thru and was drooling a little, ok maybe more than a little.... at all of the great ideas. And here is the best part it is a free magazine that Lowe's puts out several times a year. How did I not ever see this before???
Inside there are so many fun, unique ideas, let me share this really cute laundry room.
It's funny but the actual magazine has different shots than this one, it doesn't have the green grass decal it has green walls. But I love this idea and I love the shelving.
I am making this! I saw one in a catalog a while back, I think it cost $50.00 but I think I can make this one for next to nothing.
And this is a great idea! I have one of those laundry rooms that should be called laundry closet! This would really help with some much needed storage.
And what a clever idea for more storage, I think this could look great in a bathroom also!
Aren't these fun! Again these could be used in a kids room, so many places. I love the colors!

This is probably my favorite and going on my "to do" list! It's such a fun laundry room. They offer the stencil here.  Maybe if mine looked this cute I would want to be in it more! Anyway, go check out the great ideas, you can have the magazine come to your house or get it via email. I am not getting paid to tell you about this ( I wish) I just had to share the great find I found!

Can you say crash dump?

So, if you haven't figured it out by the title of this post, my computer crashed!
Let me just say I know a little bit about alot of things but when it comes to computers I know a bazillions less than a little bit. So, I did what any smart girl would do... I said "oh honey" and he worked on it for hours, yes hours! He looked a little something like this....

But of course he figured it out and handed it to me and everything was there except my pictures! No worries I still had all of them on my camera. I had it in my sweet little hands for about 5 minutes, or maybe 3 and then I got this....

Good times right? Do you think this will help?

So, I will be taking a little break from the computer until I can figure out a way to get the hubby to crap away a few more hours, boy do I owe him big time! I'm already going thru withdrawl, I'm thinking a few projects might get done this weekend! And someday maybe I can share my kitchen reveal!

Playing With Paper and Paint- Mixed Media Art

I went to one of my favorite places yesterday, The Little Blue House. It's a fun place full of neat, creative ladies and any time I get a chance to go and take a class or hang out there, I go! This is my latest creation.
I have wanted to play with mixed media forever, this class was a chance to jump in and get my feet wet.
It was so much fun, layering paper and paints and stamps. It's the kind of art where you just go for it, no way you can mess up.We choose our own words to put on it. These words speak about where I am in my life right now.
I love all the little bits and pieces. And I have the perfect place for this in my guest room.
I got home and I couldn't quit thinking about it so I got out a bunch of stamps and a bunch of stuff you just have around the house and started creating.
And here is what I came up with. My sister in law was just in town and she calls my daughter a songbird, I guess I had songbird on the mind.
My husband, who is my biggest supporter, says "you need to sell these". That is sweet, means alot to me.
Love her fat little singing cheeks! How many of these can I have in my house? I told the girls in class that I was going to go home and paint the bathroom wall like this. Wouldn't that be fun to look at? Anyway, yet another thing I'm hooked on! Do you love to play? If so you will love this! Oh, I should have mentioned, the songbird one is a pizza box!

A little peek of the cabinets

Well it's official. I am probably one of the worst bloggers ever! Guess how many pictures I took during this whole process... uh zero, zilch, nada! I did however take a few after.
I'm loving them, I should have done this a long time ago! I don't want to show you everything because this is just the beginning.
Next this dinosaur has to go. We tried to take it out so we could paint below it but we couldn't get it out. Bad pic, the cabinets don't look pink at all.
And this old faithful has to go too, she served our family well for almost 23 years. It will be nice to have a stainless steal one that matches the dishwasher and fridge.
And although stainless is desired for the appliances I am ready for something different for a sink. I'll be getting a big old farm sink. And of course with all these changes I can't keep the same counter tops. Well be getting butcher block from Ikea. I can't wait to see it. I LOVE the wood with the white cabinets. The one thing I am not sure about is my backsplash. I had planned on something white but saw this at Home Depot and I am considering it.
The fabric is for the kitchen curtains. What do you think? I'm waiting until I see the tile with the butcher block, not sure I am going to like it together. Anyway, so much more to do. You know how it is one thing leads to another and another and another. I call is the decorating monster, like the blob, it just keeps growing and growing, . I'll share more about the cabinets and what we did and all of that as time goes on. They look great, they should have always been this way!

Chair reupholstery

Do you work on more than one project at a time? I do, but usually not 2 big projects at once. However, we're on a mission. My sister in law arrives in less than 12 hours and will be here for one week, we gotta make hay while the sun shines, you know what I mean??? I have been doing some prework so when she gets here we can shoot out of the gate!

This chair is getting a little facelift, it looks funny without the legs. I always forget to take a picture before I get started. :)
Have you always wondered what your furniture looks like under the fabric? My handy work, I removed a bajillion staples!!!
It only took 3 little tools, really I didn't use the scissors much so I guess it took 2. And no, that isn't the bajillion staples, of course I thru those away BEFORE I took the picture! Sigh, one day I will learn to take pics as I go. Keep checking back to see our killer skillz!
