Spreadin a little more LOVE!

Well I guess I have been bitten by the "LOVE BUG" this Valentine's day cause I can't stop making decorations! This is it tho, onto spring, right???

Ewww... wait, maybe not just yet. This is what it looked like when I woke up yesterday morning. Beautiful and sooo quite! I love it... but that isn't what you are here for is it. (I realize this is nothing compared to my northern friends!)

Maybe it's the socks that have got me in the mood!?!

Today I put together one little vignette just inside the entry of my house.

Love potion! I found this label on google images, just typed in "love potion label" and there she was. I printed it off and spray adhesived it onto a .99 cent bottle from the Goodwill. I had these darling little beads so I strung them up and put them around the neck of the bottle. It's full of some kind of fruit drink I had laying around the house. If you do this put the drink in BEFORE you put the label on, as to not spill on said label. It kinda aged it out so I am fine with it, no worries.

 I also got this little pitcher from Goodwill and made a lollipop bouquet. Ummm, I love this time of year when you can get a whole bag of pink and red tootsie pops!

 Precious Mattie, I loved his sweet little soul.This is better than a plate full of fake chocolates.

I took this off of the other vignette so this is what you see as soon as you come in the door. Which set off changes on the other vignette I had.

This is really what you see when you walk into the door. Can you read their minds??? Let me help you... mom can we PLLLLEEEEAAAASSSSEEEEEE go outside and play, we have been in this house for days!!!
To which I say... go ask your father!
So I mentioned I had some redecorating to do...

Notice anything different? I removed the love sign and put this candle there.

Let me show you how this all began.

Candlestick from Goodwill for .99. Love that store! Spray painted is with the same red Metal X Krylon spray paint.

Then I took these necklaces I purchased at CVS for a dollar. I cut them all apart. I only used the red for this project. I hot glued them onto a basic 3x6 white candle. Next I dipped them in a crock pot of melted wax.

This is just plain parafin wax but I didn't think it was deep enough so I added an old white candle I had.

I dipped mine twice but you be the judge if you do this. Sometimes once is enough. These make perfect teachers gifts! I have done this for years but I used to make them with Spree candies. They came in packages with red and white candies. I can't find them anymore except in their regular colors which are cute too, but not what I was looking for. I've made them with ALL kinds of items added.

This is probably my favorite! But I have added dried apples, oranges, ground coffee beans, cinnamon sticks, dried flowers, I mean anything you can think of.

Isn't it sweet? They look like gummies.
Oh and the pink beads, can't let those go to waste.

I added them to my Valentine tree.

So this is how this table looks now. And here is one last thing I made out of an angora sweater but... it is going to have to wait until next year for completion. For now it will just have to be a little pillow.

I love Home Goods!

I have been on a hunt for the perfect bedspread for my niece's room and so that means I keep going to Home Goods because typically they have the best stuff. I did find one that might work but I found lots of other things that I would love to have. So I gotta share them with you because I know not all of you have one 10 minutes from your house.

This was the first thing I saw when I walked in, to die for!!! Wouldn't it also be cute at a bathroom vanity?

Imagine this in the same room! This is one of my favorite styles in a chair and the fabric, well it's one of my favs too!

Wouldn't this make a sweet little side table? Love her legs!

Here is another one. This one is a robins egg blue, it came in white and yellow.

Another adorable dresser, would make a nice night stand too.

I loved these! They would look great in my niece's house.

Oh and this was a funky little table. It would actually work in  my house but I already have one. Love this texture.

I am thinking take a chandy and turn it upside down and make this table candle holder, very cute!

I love this piece! I think my sister is looking for something like this.

Uhhhh the grey and white, I am loving it! I'm thinking spring in a white kitchen, CUTE! Imagine that first little dresser with these also.

And this little guy right here, this was pure temptation, and I passed. I LOVE white dishes, especially teapots. I may have to go back!

And this fabric, yep it would be perfect for my niece's bedroom, BUT it's a dog bed! So what do you think? Did you see anything you wanted???

See my heart!

Well here in North Texas we are all snuggling up in our homes due to the low record breaking temps and sheet of ice on every surface outside. To add to the craziness people from all over the US are arriving for the Superbowl. You people up north would think we are crazy if you could see how we react to weather like this! So what's a girl to do under these conditions??? I know... create sumpin!

I purchased this cute little frame at the Goodwill the other day. As soon as I saw it I had an idea of just what I wanted to do with it. Do you have items that you are drawn to at the Goodiwll? I do, frames are one of them. This little gem cost me  99 cents, how you gonna walk away from such cuteness for that price I ask you???? So I gave it a good coat of  Krylon X Metal Red spray paint.

Then I took some of the leftover wool that I had from this project.

And this old sweater... I love the color of but it always sheds and gets awful little fuzzies in my eyes. I couldn't throw it away, I thought it would be perfect for a project. I cut 3 hearts in 3 different sizes out of these fabrics.

I cut 3 small circles a little smaller than a dime. Then I took a needle and thread that had been knotted. I pulled it thru the circle.  I couldn't take pics of this but I folded the circle in half, with the knot inside and I folded it in half again which made a little bud. I took the needle and thread and whipped a few stitches thru the small end, kinda at the point. It forms these sweet little buds.

I glued all 3 of those buds to the center of this heart. I also stitched around the white heart, then glued everything together. It's so sweet, love how  it all came together. I was inspired by Tea Rose Home on this project. She is one of my favorite blogs and one of the first that I followed. Go and check her out!
