My space is finally ready for some Christmas crafting!

I finally have the creative room of my dreams! At least in this house, I could always use something bigger but this is a huge improvement.  I think this room has been redone more than any room in the house. But it's always been with leftovers or freebies, finally I was able to spend a little money and fix it like I want. I still have a few projects left to do BUT the layout is done! Ok, get ready for LOTS of pics!
Welcome in, this is the first thing you see..
Look I even have a chair to sit and snuggle in.
No, this isn't all of my ribbon, just the bits and pieces you have left after a project or the stuff that comes off of packaging. It's easy to have it right by the door so you can put it on a hook.

It's a small room, I have to take advantage of every space.
My goal is to have as much as I can at my fingertips, so tired of digging for stuff!
Love my new Ikea curtains!!! They make me so happy, love the vintage feel!
I love elephants, and dislike plugs, this covers one of those so I don't have to look at it. Bad blurry pic!
Have you picked up a copy of this magazine yet, you should you won't be sorry! I showed you some highlights here.
And my Ikea shelving, this was what I had been wanting and needing for a LONG time!
My work desk, I have been in here everyday since I got it set up. Last night I almost got up at 3am to go and create something! I am just loving my space.

Lot of necessities right at my finger tips! And see that photo? That reminds me of me and one of my favorite people in the whole world. (Love ya Karen) We always tell each other we won't let the other act or dress old. In this picture we have given up!
And my collection of my favorite elephants. Yes that's a tv. I'm telling you if there was a fridge, I don't think I would ever leave the room.. oh and a potty. :)
This is an elephant my daughter made me at school when she was little. It's a bell! LOVE IT!
Great paint storage, the 2 wooden crates came from Goodwill and I just gave them a coat of spray paint. Now I can find any color really easily! Apparently I have a thing for green! There are 3 sections of greens. I can just see me now in the store, do I have any green paint? No I better pick some up!
Have you seen these sample paints at Home Depot? They are Martha's. I'll tell you more about those later. And the little tile next to them, my daughter made this one too. It's an elephant angel, she is so creative!
Two of these great big shelves! The best part, not all of this storage is full, room to grow!
 A few of my stamps.
Ms Sassy Pants. I don't know how you feel about your Silhouete, but me and Ms Sassy, have a love hate relationship. Right now I'm not talking to her! Sometimes she makes the simplest project sooo difficult. Am I the only one that feels this way?
I still need to paint this. The dresser I got at a garage sale last year and the top storage is something I just picked up at a flea market. I can't decide on what color just yet.
A little inspiration in the craft room is always a good thing.
And then sometimes you realize... it is what is it, and turn out the lights and try another day.
This is by an artist in one of my favorite vacation spots, Rockport, Massachusetts.
And a little angel to look over me as I work.
And just so you know I'm keeping it real! This is the inside of this until I get it fixed...
and the closet is next. I think I am going to take the door off and put the same curtain in front of it, easier access and I get to look at more of that fabulous fabric! So let's just say I am tickled pink! I'll show some of the things I have been working on in the last few days this week so check back soon!

My craft space redo, take 10!

I am working on my workroom, AGAIN! The problem is the space is too small or I have too much stuff. I'm not sure but I think I'm sticking with the first one. The other problem is that I haven't ever really had any storage so I bought these shelves from IKEA, called Gorm.
They come unfinished, I am painting mine with some oops paint. This project is taking me forever, I am overwhelmed by it all. I just want it to all my stuff to fit in the room when I am done! But today I want to show you this beautiful new spray paint I found at Lowe's.
Isn't it pretty? I'd like to tell you the name of it BUT I threw the can away and I bought a new one, but it's in the car and it's late and cold outside so I'm not going out. I bought this wooden thing to hang on the wall and put my paint bottles in at Goodwill.
And a little closer look. Love this, such a pretty shade, reminds me of the ocean in Florida! Well that is it for now, nice little tease huh? If you want to see what my craft space looked like before, check it out here.
Funny, this isn't what it looked like when I started redoing it this time, it is forever evolving!

Walk by faith sign

I am soooo excited! This is the coolest project. I want to make 10 of them! You get the idea, I'm in love, not gonna do alot of talking just check out the pics. Oh how I wish I had my good camera, these don't do this thing justice.

Check out the bling on that cross! So what do you think, isn't this the coolest project? I have an idea for a Christmas one with the same kind of technique. Come back soon to check it out!

Look at this burlap!

So recently I came across this really cool burlap. I asked the store owner about it and she said it was called open weave burlap. She sold it for $50.00 a roll, I can't remember if it had 5 or 10 yards, either way more than I wanted to spend on some burlap. But it was really cool! You can check out a great picture of it here.

But yesterday I was rushing thru my local Walmart and out of the corner of my eye I see this roll. And I thought ah-ha!
It looked almost like the stuff I saw at the flea market. I picked this up for 9.99 for 3 yards, which is about what burlap usually cost, much better than the 10.00 for the other. I thought why not give it a try? This is used for gardening I guess.
Can you see the difference? The weave is open, just a little looser.

This has so much more texture, I just love it.
Perfect for fall! So what do you think, got any ideas what to do with this stuff? I do, be sure to check back to see what I've come up with.

Will you help me with my dream kitchen?

Do you love your kitchen? If not, do have a dream kitchen in your head? I don't love my kitchen, probably have never loved my kitchen. First of all I don't have enough storage. But more than that  I hate the awful, ugly, oak, yellow, fake kitchen cabinets. I know hate it strong word, I don't use it often, but the cabinets are awful! If you have them and love them then I am happy for you, but me, not so much!

So here is an old picture with my old, not so good camera. This is a "great room", the living area is on the other side
which is perfect when the family is all over, we're all in the same room hanging out together. So while I love it's location there are some parts of it that have always bothered me. Some I have fixed along the 22 years that I have lived here. Why I haven't done something to the cabinets... well I was going to say I don't know but really I do, I'm lazy, the thought of all that work, even tho there aren't many just isn't appealing to me, But now, now I finally get to get some new counters, backsplash, sink and faucet, stove and microwave so suddenly I have the motivation. But I need your help! You see when it comes to making a decision for me, it takes me forever because I don't get to do this kind of thing often, meaning I will live with it for probably 20 more years and then by then I will be so old that I won't really care what's in the kitchen, certainly hoping I get to retire from that place totally by then! :)
So I am painting the cabinets white and adding some hardware, either Oil Rubbed Bronze or Nickle, still not sure yet, but that will come last so no biggie, did I just say that? I dream of all white cabinets.. butcher block countertops, love wood, love the used worn look of wood, not a huge fan of the granite, I
KNOW I AM THE ONLY PERSON IN THE WORLD WHO DOES NOT CARE FOR GRANITE, BUT I DON'T, AT LEAST NOT FOR ME. When I go into your homes and you have it, it is lovely, not something I could live with for the next 20 years. And I know what you are thinking, I won't have the wood for 20 years either, your right, but with the lower cost of wood, if I decided in 5 years I don't like them and maybe the granite thing has grown on me then I can make a change or maybe those beautiful recycled countertops will be a little more cost effective. Continuing on with the dream... a white farm sink and a nice new faucet. A little something like this.
Remember I'm dreaming! My kitchen doesn't look anything like this, but you get the idea, wood, white, stainless steal. I've also picked out this beautiful penny round tile that is called pepper. The pic below isn't it, but imagine, add a little pepper.
And a farm sink.
Isn't is beautiful??? Do you have one, do you like it? I have had stainless steal for so long I am going to hate a white sink?
So do you kinda get the pic? Or kitchen dream #2...
White upper cabinets, gray bottoms with Corian,....farm sink stays either way. If I have white upper cabinets and gray lower ones and white with little black speck penny round tile do I have a darker or lighter counter top? I should show what my floor curently looks like, it's a change we made a looong time ago, tile by tile, back breaking job!
So it already has a tint of grey in the room. Given that the floor is so light I think having gray bottom cabinets is a better option, but not sure what I think about the gray with the butcher block. Sooo ladies, friends, I would love your feedback! That is if you aren't too tired to respond after reading this book! My husband says "oh what it must be like to be in your head!" Craziness I tell you, it keeps me awake at night!

A little organization

I realized as I was looking through some of my photos that I hadn't shown you some of the projects from my niece's house. Here is a great little board she made for her jewelry.
This is in a closet so it's a little hard to get a good pic at a good angle, and the paper is polka dot so it has a funny look in this pic.
Add some sassy flowers, and you have an adorable way to display your jewelry.
Isn't this frame to die for??? I wish I had taken a before, it was UGLY, no other way to say it! I never can remember what I need to pick up at Walmart, no problem with this is little board.  This hangs on the wall so all you have to do is jot it here and your all set.
Drool alert! She has an amazing craft room, still in progress but I had to take some pictures. Just check out the size and ALL the storage! I'm gonna let the pics talk for themselves.
I didn't take pics but there is a good size closet with MORE storage And a sewing machine area in it. Oh and her husband has a little corner with a desk for him! Can you see the tray ceiling with the darker gray and white, it looks amazing! So do you have a space to call your own, a place to create?
